fuse holder keeps melting

two weeks ago where my power cord goes into my fuse holder it started turning black but i didnt think nothing of it. then today i started smelling a burning smell so i lifted my hood and i seen that my fuse holder melted and even the metal inside of it melted.i had a 100 amp fuse in it 4 awg power wire ap1000 d1 amp and 2xfl 12s

and i just want to know why this keeps happining

I have no idea... I guess try cutting the old fuse holder out and throw a new one in there. If that doesn't work replace the whole power wire. Idk if anyone else has experience with a problem like this on the forum but that's the only suggestion I can think of.

After reading some other forum topics with the same problem my next suggestion is to make sure the fuse holder isn't near anything that gets warm, as close to the battery as you can is ideal. Mine is resting between my battery and air filter, nothing heats up there.

two things 1 loose connections and 2 I think you are over the ampacity of the fuse holder itself. What is the size fuse in the two amps? Your main fuse should not be smaller than the total

what should i look for if i do have a loose connection?
to test loose connection physically tug on the wire if it moves its loose. Did you use crimp style terminals, set screw or solder type? Did you use proper Crimp tool if crimped? Over ampacity means over what te fuse can handle, not where it was placed.

im thinking it was maybe to much for the fuse to handle maybe because thats a grade a amp

but the only thing that i didnt have super tight was the screw that holds the power cord and the ring terminal to the battery.i just screwed it in with my hand
