what size fuse do i need for the distro block? it says peak current is 160amps in manual. and lets say im getting 1/0 wire next week, what size fuse for that?ive heard 250a or so, and im thinking 150amp for distro block yes or no? need quick, leaving in about an hour

im getting a distro that has 1 1/0 input and 2 4 ga out puts i think, it is fuesed with anl fuses, but i have to buy them so 200 you think? but max is only 160amps?

Go with your original plan. You shouldnt pull anwhere near 160 for daily use, and if you have a 150 amp fuse, youll be fine. Think of it like this- you have a 200 amp fuse.....then you have a problem with the electrical system, and it sends 190 to the amp, POOF there goes your amp......

so here is what it says--- Peak power consumption at rated power into 1ohm 160amps, but im not even doing the 2300rms im just using 1800rms or so for 1ohm, so i think 150 will be good

Dude, chillout! A 150 amp fuse is quite sufficient for this amp. I've got an e-mail straight from Power Acoustik Technical support department that states this amp will pull a max current of 180 amps. It's like zachzchw stated, if your electrical system for some unknown reason were to send a spike of current greater than 180 amperes and you have a 200 amp fuse then you will be amp-less, whereas if you had a 150 amp fuse inline then that sucker would pop.

You only have to worry about the wires capacity. Dont put a fuse bigger then capacity of the wire.... the alternator cannot give more amps then the amplifer is drawing... amperes are only taken they are not always there like Volts. Look at the sticky in wiring about will a high out put alternator fry my electrical system. No it wont. Only reason you need to fuse is so that if your amp starts pulling more power then the wire is designed to handle the fuse will blow thus saving your wire and any fires that may occur...
