Fuse block: What are they for?

I've seen what I think are called "fuse blocks" for car stereo setups where a bunch of fuses are combined together on one block.

Are they to create the equivalent of one big fuse?

For example: A fuse block with ten 30A fuses on the same block ... Seems to me like this would equal one big 300A fuse, no?

Do people do that so they can buy cheap 30A fuses instead of one 300A fuse?

Just curious ... Thanks!

its for competition. some competitions you cant have over lets say a 60a fuse. so you need to chain multiple small fusees up
So if you need a 120A fuse, you'd just combine two 60A fuses?

If it's that easy ... what a silly rule, no?

What's the point?

oh dear God.
its a distro block with an inline fuse holder. no need to overthink things. its handy not having to pull the power to every component just to tweak one item.
uhh no. hes talking about a block with lets say 20 fuses on it. its for competition.

Yessir, that is what I'm referring to.

aworldcollision: I know what a distribution panel with fuses is. On those, the fuses are not all connected together like what I'm talking about.

ugh..

I don't think so...no..he's just talking the regular old fuse block. with his description all clues lend toward you guys overthinking it rather than me underthinking:)

when's the last time anyone saw that rule in print?

if he is he is asking this then I digress but you guys have a way of only asking a quarter question at a time.

Words can be your friends.

I typed: "I've seen what I think are called "fuse blocks" for car stereo setups where a bunch of fuses are combined together on one block."
