I'd get this one, it's a few bucks more but knu makes some good stuff. A lot of people usem and you're not taking a chance on something that might be cheaply made that might leak. The few xtra bucks is worth it imo.

Not sure on that, someone else might be able to tell ya. Think I read it should be within 18" from the battery. That mightuv been the main line 0 gauge goin from the battery to the amps though. Run a search on ....Big 3... and read up on it. If you find the answer post it in here, I'll see if I can find somethen on it too.

theres a big 3 sticky that probably has all this info in it.
I just read the big 3 thread, every post in the thread. They just say to put a fuse holder between the alt and batt, not which end to put it on. So I'm assuming either end would work, I'd put it near the battery cause there's more places to mount it. The alt's usually in the front of the motor , vs the batt near the body.

Realize that... but none of you have done the big 3? Where did you fuse it at? A lot easier to just ask here and for someone to post the answer than reading through PAGES of that thread!
Quit being a lazy basturd and read up on this shit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hitbybrick.gif.68a672fae224041f00769a97c2c1bf2d.gif

It just gets annoying when people obviously know the answer to a question but say to go search instead... if you can type "go read this thread, blah blah blah... " can't you just answer the question? (Not saying you in particular lol) but yeah i found out you fuse it by the battery.

I say don't fuse it and keep a camera nearby, so we can see the sparks and fire show. LOL
I imagine your truck is worth the $20 of insurance a fuse would provide...
That's a little exaggerated. No wait - a lot. Big three does not require a fuse between alt and battery, it just doesn't cause any harm to do it and be safe if you're in a car crash. Even then, most likely nothing would happen.

always fuse whithin 18 " of batt
all power wires need fused whithin 18" of its power source

one last time for those who dont understand

fused whithin 18" of batt

quit being cheap
yes in general that's the way but there's 2 power sources, the alt and the batt. They were trying to find out if there was a better end to fuse it at, with two power sources.
