Go all Rockford Fosgate except HU. They make amps, subs and components. You can even get RF wiring, battery clamps, etc. You will probably spend more than $1k though unless you do their low end line. I think it could be done if you mixed some new gear with some used gear and you could have a good sounding system. Not great, but good. Well good enough for only one brand. You could probably do it with JL. Maybe a couple W0 and a used 500 watt amp and a cheap set of components with a lower line JL amp. It can be done but you'll have to be patient and wait for deals. Or the least desirable would be kicker. You can buy all new kicker and get under $1k but you might not be happy with the quality. Just a few ideas for ya.

What's wrong with RF or JL? The guys on a budget. He could get some used equipment and get those to fit under his budget.

I think Sundown is far from being anything like Kicker, I would worry more about DD and AQ- oh excuse me, sound qubed. Whoever came up with name should be kicked in the nads.

Perhaps. I agree though. If the op stays patient and waits around for the right deals, he could put together a very nice system for under $1k. But it might take a month or two to collect everything. I've spent $900 on amp, new havoc and Kenwood dd with navi. Just need a box and install so I'm close to his budget and I spent $350 on the HU and sub each. But my budget was a lot more than his. I just happened to find a couple good deals. I just threw those brands out there since they make all of the items he needs to make a system and he could do it while staying with his original plan of using one company.
