strip the paint off. they make stripper for plastic and metal.i don't trust the yellow paint that is aready on the dash. the cloth will give me the foundation i'm comfortable with to paint off of and not have to be concerned about whorpping or flakeing down the line.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
x2 creates a lot of hassle, I ran into some problems on my doors from leaving the fabric on them.um.. the point of using fabric is to cover Open areas to create a shape. that looks like a waste to cover a dash and a door panel like that IMO..
maybe he knows something you don't?x2 creates a lot of hassle, I ran into some problems on my doors from leaving the fabric on them.
i forgot to mention i use 922 resin. it's industrial streanth(not that over the counter or boat shop resin) and has wax in it. two coats of this and the parts will be supper strong, slick and glossy. that means very little body work for me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
No resin be it polyester or epoxy will stick for any length of time to a painted surface.
For future reference, Resin that has wax added is known as surfacing resin. The wax is there to keep air away from the curing resin. Lay up resin doesn't have the wax. If the resin has wax or not doesn't make it any better or worse. Two different animals with different purposes for each. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
