Full Eclipse lineup on Crutchfield

With the Good Guys defunct (and no longer carrying Eclipse for the West Coast) and the new more friendly detachable faceplate design, it's good timing on Crutchfield's part to carry all their line, not just video.

Man it seemed like years ago (oh wait, it was years ago!) that Alpine and Eclipse were carried only by botique/high end car audio shops.

well thats acutally kind of exciting to hear that crutchfield is carrying Eclipse full line now. I have always looked for a legit and customer friendly place to purchase from becuase so many other places just look fake or really shotty....untrusting.

hrm... didn't see anyone talking about a pro mode at 11 bands...????

Isn't the CD7000 detachable....you'd think more people would be talking about this. Eclipse finally has a detachable face...that would be a huge thing given eclipse never really went this route before.

I'm still playing with the idea of getting a DRZ9255 to go w/ my 3 way active setup......only due to SQ and looks.

Crutchfield has always been a top notch mail/internet retailer. Their prices are not the most competitive (they sell mostly at or near MSRP) but when they clear out items, the prices can be very attractive.

And you're right, Eclipse is beginning to change their philosophy with detachable faceplates; non-removable placeplates w/ESN has been the cornerstone of their product line for quite some time. It'll be interesting if they keep ESN to complement detachable in the future.

As for the DRZ9255...I agree, it is arguably the best looking and tactile head unit out there. The faceplate contains no plastic, just solid metal; the display a scratch resistant glass, not the plastic most head units use these days. I had one for 6mos. after coming off an Eclipse 8053. While the build quality is superb, the SQ was unfortunately nothing special. If anything, it sounded on the warm side. I eventually abandonned it and returned to Eclipse, more detailed and neutral for my taste.
