Front stage for 145db?

Wow - I guess you really are a waste of time.

You keep mentioning the beaming thing.. It's only at very high volumes no? In that case it's not even a problem because nobody listens to pa drivers at more than half volume in the car..if you do you will go deaf. And when you open the doors and blast it for the homies it doesn't have to be all quality, is just has to be loud. I can see how beaming is an issue for when you're playing for an audience, but Whoever I show off my system to can deal with a little beaming. They'll still be blown away by the loudness.
we are just in two different worlds bro. Sound quality vs Sound quantity SQ vs SQ. However my Sound quality still has to keep up with a 30k system with 4 18s meanwhile maintaining amazing soundstage, clarity and detail. You cant melt faces with loud SQ demos if you have beaming fking up your sound stage and clarity. You can just have loud noise, i guess thats just fine for many....

Beaming is dictated by cone area.

Example. A female vocal ranges from example 1000-3000hz with her pitch.

She is singing and you can see her at eye level. Her pitch rises and she moves to the bottom of the door. You lost the speakers dispersion and the tweete didn't pick it up to keep it eye level. The output of her voice also drops.

I love how everybody thinks I don't care about SQ. I do. I just don't think this beaming thing is gonna really be an issue for me. If it is present to the point where it really bothers me I will gladly admit my system's downfall and redo it. Are you speaking from based on real life experience or some stuff you read?

real life brah. Legit fks with the sound stage. Play around with an active capable head unit and you can easily tell. You'll need to hear a properly done soundstage first to even know what you are looking for or you will just be blind to it.

Nothing is perfect. a 2 way is far from ideal SQ or setting the perfect stage or whatever, I know that. Nobody said everything has to be perfect. If it sounds good to the listener, then it's good.

I do realize once I hear a properly done soundstage I won't be able to listen to what I'm building atm but until then...

Will do. I am yet to even finish the build. My hu has time alignment so I will be fking with the soundstage, I read a guide on how to set up the stage. If I'm not mistaken you play some "pink noise" or whatever and adjust stuff until it's just below your rearview mirror, + probably some other stuff.

If you have a link to a guide on how to set up the stage I'll gladly read that.

btw look at this pic. it says 0 degrees and 45 degrees. 0 degrees means facing the speaker directly? and 45 degrees is when the listener is standing off-axis at 45 degrees to the speaker? just trying to understand what this stuff means.

beaming is when the dispersion pattern is narrow from the wave length of the sound. most times if your have your mid-range drivers 30-75 degrees off axis even with a 8" driver you can cross it around 2500.

Id be more concerned with comb filtering, phase distortion, refraction and using the proper placement and air space for said drivers..

A 2 way is fine. If everything can be ran within it limits and meet your output goals. The less speakers the better.

Read the link I posted.

1k not 2500. If it was 2500 way more would be using them with tweeters instead of widebanfers.
