Front stage for 145db?

Yeah, you can. But you can cut your finger off with pruning shears, doesn't mean you should do it. If you have a bass driver sharing airspace with a midrange driver, the bass driver is going to modulate the midrange and cause the cone to move. This is obviously not desirable. Like those retards with 6x9's being stretched to the limits by the subs in the trunk. It's just stupid.
Shameless but relevant plug for these. --> http://www.caraudio.com/forums/speaker-classifieds/630787-8-carbon-fiber-midbass-mirange-pair.html
You are right.

I can see how they would mess with each other.

Ya its best to put the dedicated midbass under the seat IF you're gonna go that route. I don't see the point really. 2way ftw.

It's rare that people put a dedicated midbass. Many 8s can play from 100hz-5khz and work really well in a 2 way.

I was actually thinking of
xtrEuG7.jpg
when I said that but he's just got 4 10s in each door as well as those giant HF drivers. It plays surprisingly clean,(and very very loud)

No 8 will work well in a 2 way unless the top end is covered by a huge tweeter or horns. 8s should never play over 2k Hertz. If you give a **** about what it sounds like. If all you car about is loud then do whatever

I agree, I like the sound of an 8" two way. It takes just the right combination of drivers but it can be done to good affect. Most 8" will not do very well off-axis after 1500Hz so a very robust tweeter is a must.
Most guys running PA gear are not interested in details like that, though. They're just looking to be as loud as possible. The image you posted is a perfect example of a person who does not concern themselves with polar response. Or anything to do with sound quality, lol.

Two different mids in the same door (enclosure)? How's that sopposed to work?
He has no idea but he saw it on a youtube video so it must be awesome

you can have different drivers in a single door not like they cancel out.
Yes they do

It would not be a big loss if Loudsound cut his typing fingers off.

loudsound well his name says it all. It isn't goodimaging or dynamicrange for a reason.

I am still waiting for him to explain to me how a deck with 4 volt outputs will make a louder system than one with 2 volt outputs.

actually after a certain size, it starts becoming very detrimental crossing mids any higher than a certain crossover point due to beaming effect. ITs okay if you just want loud noise but if you want any resemblance of SQ, you would want to avoid beaming at all cost.

I would like to put 8s in the doors I just don't know how
Am I reading that wrong or is that a 7 inch tweeter?
That tweeter is loud as **** easily comparible in output to those ****** sounding pro audio super tweeters that have **** for mid to low midrange. They are huge but they would sound amazing get loud and blend perfectly with the daytons..

You would thank me everyday for recommending them..

Deff gonna take some time and funds, maybe even swapping speakers in and out till you find what you like and works for you.Research as much as you can on the vehicle in question and speakers before you choose. Can get expensive very quickly.

Sounds AMAZING in real life to an average listener. If you're all into SQ then it's a different story.

You insulted me for no reason, therefore I will never ever explain you anything.. Google it you fkin redneck

What would that point be?

You keep mentioning the beaming thing.. It's only at very high volumes no? In that case it's not even a problem because nobody listens to pa drivers at more than half volume in the car..if you do you will go deaf. And when you open the doors and blast it for the homies it doesn't have to be all quality, is just has to be loud. I can see how beaming is an issue for when you're playing for an audience, but Whoever I show off my system to can deal with a little beaming. They'll still be blown away by the loudness.

FYI - Born and raised in Miami. FL

Moved to a log home on 101 acres in the mountains of TN when I retired at the age of 34 (9 years ago)

I don't work, I have systems in all 3 of my cars (actually building the one in my truck now)

I called you out for saying something very stupid and that is where your problem came from.

You still will not either explain your position or just admit that you are wrong for saying that a 2 volt output head unit will not be as loud as a 4 volt head unit. Higher voltage is used to increase the noise floor of a system, gain matching on a amp is how a 2 volt system will be 100% the same loudness as a 4 volt system.

Grow up and open your ears, you can learn much more that way than believing that you know everything at 18 years old and older people are just stupid.
