Front and back speakers?

After reading some of the posts on here and listening for myself, I have concluded that it is better to go with higher quality speakers in the front (example: components or nice co-axs) and go with cheaper ones in the back. I do have some questions though:

1. Am i really not going to be able to here the difference between cheap speakers and nice speakers in the back?

2. Is it better to invest in components to go in the front even if they are going to be run off of only headunit power and no amplifier? Or should i not invest in the components if im not gonan have an amp and just go with co-axs in the front?

3. How much should i be looking to spend on components in the front if indeed i do decide to get them? I do think i can get a good deal on some though.

4. Is that wiring that they sell at wal-mart (Scorsche? i think it is called), is it quality wiring or just cheap stuff? Another thing, does the brand of wiring really make that big of a difference?

Ive been confused on these things, and ive asked different people and gotten different answers. Some say it is better to invest in the components in the front (without an amp), some say it isn't. Personally, i feel the components do sound better, but ive also ran across some nice sounding co-axs as well.

its in general better to have an external amp power components because the external amp will give more power and probably cleaner power than the HU internal amp. i would suggest getting one if you are getting components.

also if you don't know here is an explanation on why its better just to do the front speakers (my opinion of course): well many car audio enthusiasts in a car try recreate a concert scene in their car. In a concert you sitting in the audience and the music is coming at you, which sounds better and louder. So this is the equivalent to running front speakers only. Depending on positioning of your speakers, the music is coming at you. But if you run a rear fill, your soundstage will move back and hence you are onstage now in a sense. Now the music is not coming at you and it doesn't sound as good.

but of course its all personal preference, some people like surround sound in their car. its all up to you though.

Most will agree with not using rear speakers. Only reason I can think of to use them is if A: Your watching alot of movies and are trying to achieve 5.1, or B: You have rear passengers quite often. If neither apply save the money and put it towards your front stage and with an amp.

Pricing for speakers can only be determined by what your pockets can afford and what sounds good to You.

rear-fill sucks

the system should be designed so that you have the illusion that all of the sound is coming from in front of you

take a look at cars from dudes like Earl Zausmer and Scott Buwalda and you'll see the elimination of rear fill

spend your money wisely on a great front stage and great amplification for it then everything else will fall into place

If your planning on running your speakers using the HU internal power, I would'nt spend the extra money on componants.

I have blown a nice set of Infinitys because I used my HU to power them.As a rule of thumb, with alot of HU's you get 12 to 15 watts/ch at 1% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) which is generally deemed acceptable.Crank it up louder and the distortion climbs rapidly.

Distortion kills.............
