subwoofers on in dash

I have a question, I have my In dash screen hooked up to my subwoofers, but it only has one set of audio, the other 2 are video outputs, one of the audio outputs say right and the other says left, is this how im supposed to hook up my subs, because now that they are hooked up my headunit is controlling the bass so if i turn the bass on my headunit all the way down the bass on my subs go really low, and i never touched my gain.

Do i just have to get bass blockers for my speakers or is there any way i can hook it up right???
