Friend wants new system, $500 budget, opinions???

After he saw my new system running on only about 150watts per sub, **** near had a seizure, seeing the huge difference between that and his 2 12" Duals in their bandpass box thing. I told him i would fine something decent for him, and he said his budget is $500 for whatever he needs. He has pioneer coax's that are doing him fine, so he needs sub and amp, ill build the box, and i think if i can im gonna squeeze a new headunit in there (he's got a sony xplod deck with no sub preout).

Looking for reccomendations! i was thinking about goin kicker because he likes to see the name brands, but i was contemplating giving those new TC DB-500's a whirl, maybe two 12's. And if money permits, prolly just a basic alpine/pioneer deck with a sub preout/controls.

Man i still same most of the underground brand's are better then the name brand's . but even though these are underground brand i would suggest two Massive cw12's some nice sub's there or maybe some kicker l5's or cvr's if he want's name brand sadly i know one of my friends like that to i told em to even register on here but he doesn't want to oh well he get like q logic boxes etc.....all that s*it. but yeah massive's are nice sub's look into those.

I would get 2 of those tc sounds and a decent 1000 watt amp or even an 800 watt amp if you could, that would seem like a nice combo. And as for a nice budget deck, get him a pioneer deh 4800 they are a good deal

I agree with the pioneer 4800 deck it's a very nice Hu . I actually have that one myself very nice.

Most amps these days have built in LPF so he shouldn't need a new deck.....

was already looking at the pioneer 4800 hehe, so i guess thats the one i should look at! i got the 780MP and love it.

Does anybody on here have experience with these DB-500's yet or maybe a vid laying around somewhere? I dont wanna risk too much seeing this isnt my car. The CVR's i know are decent, but i would love to try those DB-500's.

This is going in a 98 (i think a 98 anyways) prelude.

I got the amp from a friend that owed me money it says 2500PMPO on the box...I'm not sure if it does the full 2500 but I'm sure it is reasonably powerful...it has remote bass knob...bass boost ...LPF .....varible XO....subsonic filter for ported boxes....1 ohm stable....
