For those with a remote bass knob

no its not dude, you add clipping by pushing the amp like that . by having the amp at 30% gain and set right you get true watts, i bet you money he is getting 75% of his rated power when if he just did the big three and got a amp that overpowered the subs slightly he would notice a HUGE difference in sound quality( efficiency is what you want out of you amp_

So if you give it more watts its going to have better sound quality? Now i think your confusing yourself.

In the manual for the amp it said it was for the gain when on the amp it had a 0-18 db SWITCH u hit that and bam theres your clipping after u set ur gain.

yeah if you hit the bass boost of course there is gonna be clipping.

no matter how you look at it its better to have your clean power off the gain rather then use the bass boost, anyone with common sense can tell you that

and that if you need to use it you should have just bought a better amp???

because when you have clean watts and good power/ground you can actualy put that power to the subs instead of losing it in heat......

I ran 4000 watts daily and do not like it at full tilt hardly ever unless im showing off. My gain is also all the way down so I am sure I am not even getting close to 4000 watts at low volume. You should never try and get more out of your amp than it is capable of, but it doesnt hurt to turn it down.

a remote gain control is not bad at all, all the amps i have gotten have a bass boost remote tho which is shitty and should not be hooked up
