For those with a remote bass knob

youll have to wait till tommorow i have 5 remte starts and a few systems to do tommorow at work and its 230 am here in buffalo.

I hope your gonna work a 20 hour days or halfass some remote starts.

first, you're misinformed about a bass knob. Some companies have a remote bass knob that boosts a certain frequency, which can clip the amp and harm the subwoofer. Some companies have a remote gain control and call it a bass knob(not bass boost knob) and with that plugged in and turned to max it plays the amp where the gain is set. What you do is set the gain properly with the remote gain out, then plug in the remote gain. If you now turn the remote gain up full, its equal to where the gain on the amp is set, so there would be no clipping since the gain was set correctly. You are correct with the result of a bass boost knob but the remote bass knob is not a bass boost.hth

so I wake up this morning and lol my thread actually reached 5 pages.. and nobody even answered my question. Well actually nvm I think someone said that I am stuck with the one I have, thats when the thread should have ended lol.And I use the knob to lessen the bass not get more than my gain is set. And the issue was why the the full range of knob dosent work, not waves of or anything else that came up.

I just got a 06 kicker zx750.1. Does anyone know if the remote knob that it comes w/ it. is it a remote bass knob or a remote gain control

it wont, that is the point of setting your gains with the knob all the way up. so you dont just turn it up and blow your subs

I agree, amps that I have dealt with that offer a remote control and call it a "bass knob" or "bass boost" or whatever. The knob is nothing more than a fader much like the level control on an eq with a sub out. To place gain control at your fingertips will just invite user misuse, and manufacturers recomend pro installs to cut back on misuse. makes no sense.
