For those with a remote bass knob

i had a lightning audio S4.1000.1D and the bass knob broke and it seems alot quieter without it i dont get how a little knob can make such a differance in the sound output i figured if there was a differance i wouldnt be able to notice it but theres a big differance

ok well now that I see that people had the same issues with me. That halfway to max on the knob does nothing.

NOW, does anybody know if there is a knob I can use that utilizes the full range?

btw, rockford doesn't have a "bass" know. rockford makes a "level" control instead.
a bass know huh? interesting. And so do most companies which in fact what this thread is about. Thus making your comment about 'square' waves completely invalid unless you are an idiot and set your gain to clipping.

Ya the reason why I love the bass knob is because I turn it down immediately if I feel the sub is reaching its limits, or to help blend with the song.

So it possible to use other bass knobs? Or am I stuck with the one I have??

Chances are it will not work correctly with another companies knob.

You can buy the ones that go inline on your rca's (not sure where to get those) or you are pretty stuck with what you have

i cant believe this thread made it this far... its a ****ing knob, when you hook it up the amp acts like the bass boost knob is turned down a notch(1%) so you can adjust it at the ****ing knob instead of at the amp. ether way bass boost is bad shit man. if you need it you need a better amp end point.

if you didnt already know about bass knobs and clipping then YOU are the idiot

wow u put all that in one sentence.. lol
and to the guy above me.. what do u mean they include square waves?
he is looking at his wives on a osiloscope( the right way to do it) the square waves he is talking about is clipping on a osiloscop, meaning that you are trying to blow your subs-)

and that there my friend is how to gain an amp. and mokedaddy hook an o-scope to your amp and turn your bassknob up and see what happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
