For those of us with mini trucks....

ok gotcha
the ranger is alittle wider on the inside than the s10 i wasn't able to fit 49" in mine with the side panel
Really, I always thought that s10's were a little wider. I'm only making it 49" cause thats the width of the MDF //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

now I just need to find some 1" mdf...

Are you only using a pair of DPs in the 6 cubes and do you already have them? I'm sure you've told me before but I forget.

quit being a ***** and blow-thru.then make a fiberglass beauty panel for the opening.

that's what i would do if i had a truck.
I don't plan on keeping THIS truck for much longer, I'll do it if I pick up an s-10.

Sorry Ken //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

correct, it will probably be closer to 5.5 cubes after all displacements
Ok. I was going to say if you didn't already have them look into the sale on the 12'' Nightshades.....they only need 1.5 cubes per. I think you'll be fine on not having the subs rub against the seat as long as you keep them relatively low on the box.

yea, i was going to get 2 more of them, but i'll be buying a pair of new 20.1's instead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can buy the Dayton port parts from Parts Express that are 4" with a flare on the outside and inside and they have tubes and elbows (smooth 90's) availible to make the ports as long as you need them. I was told to keep ports at least a port diameter (4") from any other structure to prevent adding an additional wind noise... Though I have found in my own install, that port noise is not very audible at all in a reg cab truck, with the port on the side of the sub box because it's so far behind the seat and all that you can't hear the noise. Just my experience with my ported truck box... i know yours is ext cab, you are luckly but watch the port size because you could get lots of audible port noise since there is nothing there to block/diffuse the noise (like the seat does in a reg cab...) 4 x 4" is probably more than adequate to defeat port noise for 2 12" subs... I believe you did say 12" DP's.... 4x4" might be a min for 2 x 15's though.... getting close to making some port noise with high power...

you can also buy dayton flares and tubes and peice together your own port
