Hey guys (and gals?):
First time poster here.
My car audio setup is nowhere near that of most of you. I spend most of my money paying down our house, and I don't have a lot left over.
Anywho, I'm putting together a system with what I can reasonably afford. (Pioneer DEH-P7700MP deck, Alpine Type S coaxials in front and rear - all bought at blowout prices.)
I have a Clarion Pro Audio PXW1041 10" sub in a non-ported wedge-shaped box. It has a 4-ohm single voice coil and is rated at 300 watts. I need an amp for it. I have worked out exceptionally good prices on two amps, and I'm going to buy one of them. The two amps are the Rockford Fosgate P2002 and the JBL GTO 75.2II. Their power ratings are similar - between 250 and 300 watts each RMS when bridged at 4 ohms. (Please excuse my faulty audio lingo.)
Does anyone have any opinions why one would be substantially better than the other? I know Rockford supposedly underrates their amps, and I know the JBL doesn't exacly have a lot of press. But perhaps JBL GTO stuff is pretty good - I don't really know.
Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance!
