I just got 2 Kenwood KFC-W3011s from crutchfield. 2 12s in a sealed box with a kenwood amp that is 900W RMS @ 2 ohms and 1800 max.

I had the cheapest wiring kit from wal-mart. the power wire is 12 gauge. Just replaced it this weekend. It hit hard and very sloppy for about a day. Then it got cleaner and the volume dropped alot. Way worse than the 12 gauge.

My new power wire is a 4 gauge. I used only the power wire.

I did not install the new grounding or the capacitor it came with. Should I try the new ground? Or just go get an 8 gauge kit

not a bad first setup, but ditch the cap, and check your wiring. I have to shit.

First try a new ground, clean it up and make sure it is on the car chassis and not something connected to the chassis. Also, imo i would change your rca's - spend a little more cash on these.

I would upgrade your ground wire/connection to match that of your power wire. Don't connect the capacitor, but do check your voltage.
