Hey guys I'm pretty new here so if I'm in the wrong section, my apologies.

I'm also new to car audio. I've just recently turned 16 and am in the process of putting together my first system that will be going into my car -- a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS. We'll be picking the car up in a little less than a week (Sept. 24 hopefully). That's pretty much irrelevant though, as the only thing I need to do when I get the car is confirm the dimensions I'll have available for my sub enclosure.

So this is the setup I'm currently looking at (Everything will be ordered from Crutchfield).

HU: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395

Monoblock Amp -- Bazooka MGA11000H

2-Channel Amp -- Boston Acoustics GTA-802

Subs -- (2) 12" MTX JackHammer JH55

Component Speakers -- Alpine SPS-600C

That's what I've got for my components so far. What I wanted to go with was a Kicker 10DX1000.1 Amp with two Kicker CVR's, but I can't afford that right now. Crutchfield had a sale going where you got those to subs with the amp for free, the amp was $50 off, and you got 50% off a wiring kit. Sadly, that sale is no more. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've got a wiring kit in there too, but I'm gonna get 1/0 gauge wire for the Big 3 Upgrade and run 2 gauge wire back to a fused distribution block. Most of that I think I have figured out for myself though. :p

I'm going to be building my own box for the subs with 3/4" MDF, with 2.0 cubic feet tuned to 35 Hz. If anybody has suggestions or comments I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to stay under $900.

You don't wanna order anything except the head unit from crutchfield, for almost everything else they are way overpriced. Check out some other sites like sonicelectronics & vminnovations & you can prob afford some better gear.

My main concern at the moment is the Bazooka amp. It's on sale for $150, usually $400. Does anybody have Bazooka components in their build or have experience with them? Is Bazooka any good?

dont buy bazooka, for 150 you can get a way better amp. you could get an Audiopipe 15001D amp for that price. Then you have plenty of power if you want to upgrade or find a good deal and get better subs. just one example
