Sealed or Ported? What vehicle? What amp?
Would I be ok with a prebuilt box?[/URL]

Rest of the money for wiring, wood, screws, wood glue, and a box design.
So, you have a crew cab Dodge and the box is going to sit on the back seat? Just double checking.$500 for the whole setups, tryna get something that hits hard, not sure what SQ and SPL are, I’m very new to this. It’s an extended cab, and yes I’m planning on the box sitting in the middle of the back seat. So, you have a crew cab Dodge and the box is going to sit on the back seat? Just double checking.
Two of these subs, box, and amp. You'll have to stand the box up. A pre-built box isn't ideal, but will work. I will probably catch shitt from people in here for saying that. It’s an extended cab, and yes I’m planning on the box sitting in the middle of the back seat.
Really trying stay with a single 12, and I understand that a custom built box will get a lot more out of a sub then a prebuilt, I’m just trying to get as much boom as I can for cheap. Two of these subs, box, and amp. Then run one of these on the same amp and get a single 12" ported box.Really trying stay with a single 12, and I understand that a custom built box will get a lot more out of a sub then a prebuilt, I’m just trying to get as much boom as I can for cheap.
Do you actually have any 1st hand experience or are you just going off what you read on the internet. I have 1st hand experience with Skar Audio. Their products are solid. Amps do rated and their subs are solid. And their customer service has been top notch. Who cares what the owner has done in his past. Also stay away from Skar garbage and not too mention the owner.
It's a long story. He has done some people wrong in here and he basically tries to copy Sundown.Do you actually have any 1st hand experience or are you just going off what you read on the internet. I have heard all the horror stories. But for all I know everyone of the owners of car audio could be a$$holes. If they make a good product, I'm gonna try it.It's a long story. He has done some people wrong in here and he basically tries to copy Sundown.
That's another issue. They actually don't own any signfinant patents or designs, they basically just try to copy others for as cheap as possible. And yes I've seen Skarbage Subwoofers in person it is cheaper components while trying to copy others.
There are people who don't like Down 4 Sound and American Bass on here as well. I bought stuff from Down 4 Sound yesterday and will be running American Bass subs in my vehicle. If you want to run Skar, go ahead, it's your vehicle and your money. Run what you want. This particular site just doesn't like Skar for various reasons.I have heard all the horror stories. I'll tell you one of my stories. I bought a Skar RP350.1 for my daughters car to run a single 10. It was a refurbished unit off ebay from Skar. The unit came in dead on arrival. I thought, man I'm gonna get screwed cause I have heard all the horror stories. Plus it was past the 90 day return policy they had on ebay. I contacted them and they asked me if I had tried another amp. Which I had and it worked perfect. They sent me a brand new RP350.1 and just had me send back the refurb.
I hooked up a Skar IX12 in a friends car running off a RP350.1. Within a couple weeks he blew it. He admitted he messed with the gains and wanted the sub louder. Again, I contacted customer service and they sent me a new sub and just had me send the old one back.
I don't care about the horror stories, they have been great with me.
That's completely different though. Nobody hates the customer service or owners of either they just don't prefer there product line for there specific needs. But yet I have had an issue with Bob in the past. Had a dealer order a set of subs for me from Bob. These were supposed to be built and sent to me. I needed them for an upcoming competition. When my dealer called them back, Bob became angry with the dealer for calling on my behalf and stated he would send the subs without warranty. Of course, I cancelled my order. That's completely different though. Nobody hates the customer service or owners of either they just don't prefer there product line for there specific needs.
