How did you set your gain?

With a tiny screwdriver? >=)

Umm I kind of just matched it up so that it coincided with my headunit's volume knob levels as best as I could. I was told going 3/4's turn of the volume knob in a head unit was a good setting for it.

That's probably why your bass is sounding so distorted. Turn it down, and then set it with a test tone.

Alright all set up and the SQ has become much better. Wooh for a first time success and I had no problems on my first time self-installation. ^_^

I know when I went to Advance Audio the guy suggested an 1100W amp to go along with those subs.

Taking advice on car audio from a dealer trying to sell you equipment at their retail store is kinda like accepting religious advice from Marilyn Manson.

Lmao yeah that's why I didn't buy from them I just checked out the equipment and found a great deal on Craigslist.
