Im planning and researching on how to install 4 channel amps, but every time i read and watch my mind blows already.

Here's my plan for my 2011 nissan rogue w/o bose system

front speakers - Alpine spr 69

rear speakers - Alpine spr 60

Amplifier -Alpine KTP-445U "Power Pack"

factory headunit

I have no problem installing speakers and amp. but the real problem is wiring the 4 speakers to amp. I'm having trouble with line converter and where is the best place to get 4 speaker signal? Im i splicing wire on my headunit. please correct me.

can some help me if i do need a line converter and what does it do to my system

if you are using the stock deck then you need a loc,install them behind the deck if you can ,then just run all new wire from the amp to speakers

i got something for you that is killer, it would involve you buying a Kicker KQ9 or another 1/2 din EQ that accepts line level inputs. the upper dash panel above your radio that houses your center air vents, I have a custom made one with a slot to install a 1/2 din EQ. I have an '08 Rogue that had a KQ9 with the factory bose unit that I did this in. I can get you a pic of what I did if interested and we can work out a price.

with the ktp 445u its both low and high level input. It has a switch on it for you to select which install option to choose. The great thing about those amps are the size. Could probably fit in the dash behind the fact deck. makes wiring real eazy just cut and splice into the factory harness right behind the deck. All you have to do is cut the rca's off the speaker wire and connect those for high level in. Also the power requirements for that amp are real small too. 10A is all it needs so you dont have to run all the way to the batt just somewhere that can supply 10A reliably. That being said the type r speakers really do like to have more power than the 445u will supply, although it will be a lot better than just of the stock deck.

Maybe he already knows how to hook up a amp an stuff but people have to learn an ask at some point. I would be asking the same thing since I have never hooked up a 4 channel with a stock stereo, wait I have never hooked up a 4 channel with a stock stereo or a after market HU period an I have a 1000c4 sitting here.

I am not ripping on you, but with the statement you said you obviously were not trying to help the OP. So take it to the dome if your going to troll or you can help by answering the OP's questions.

when did i ever say i'm not trying to help him? now you're just trying to put words in my mouth. i said that if he has so many questions... it would be better for him to start off a little simpler.

Your going to need a loc, as stated. Personally I would tap into the rear speakers at the speaker, closer to your amp.

splicing in to the rear speakers would be a hell of alot easier than going all the way from the headunit

get a "line out converter" (loc)and i would suggest tapping off the pos+/neg- of the rear speakers too because of location, like other guy said because you'll probably mount amp in back section or on back of rear seat. The rear speakers put out more bass though so its a sound quality listening issue if to much bass use fronts. Most people use "loc" to hook up amp to add a sub so for adding amp for highs and mids you might really want to look into getting an after market HU or at least an EQ to be able to have the extra tuning ability that a stock HU just doesnt offer. IMO. Good luck
