Resistors to control volume

So you may have read my other post and seen my first problem. I installed an aftermarket Hu in my Sebring which has a stock infinity amp. The level is a lot higher than the stock Hu so the volume gets louder quicker. I was expecting that which is why I installed a hu which has the ability to send just a preamp signal. However this infinity amp seems to work differently and needs a higher input.. Blah I hope that makes sense.

Anyways my question and thought is this. Can I put resistors in line with my speakers to require more power be sent to achieve a higher volume? To the point where my subs will be getting a decent signal? I don't want to use a loc, I have one I paid 40 for and I am not a fan. Or are there any other ways I can do this?

I have a feeling I'm eventually going to buy a bypass for the stock amp and just go off hu power. But from what I remember the quality is low. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

do the bypass and replace the speakers is what I would do

Yeah you think it would still sound good? I have replaced the speakers with two way jbl's.

it will sound fine and when you can you can add a 4 channel and already have the bypass done

Ya I was thinking that, I have a 4 channel pioneer but it's a convertible and there isn't a lot of room. I was hoping I could fit it under the seat but I would have to take the seat out to comfortably work on the wires. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hey I had what I think may be a really good idea. So I'm running my speaker outputs to my stock amp and it's too loud. What if I ran the low level outputs (rca) from the back of the Hu to the input of the stock amp. Would this work?

Turns out it was an excellent idea. Works exactly how I wanted it to. So the stock infinity amp must have the ability to run off high and low level inputs through the 8 speaker wires. Yeah just having a conversation with myself.
