First Ever Box Build: 4 DD 1508's

Thank you both. Setup sounds great. Got it all in today and wow does it sound good and loud. It will even sound better once i break them in. Will get pics and hopefully vids up tomorrow. I have all the pics i just need to upload them.

Here is a pic of my 4 DD 8 box...I've done over 152+ with it...similar to yours.....

Comin along beautifully. Good build quaility is the first step in sounding good and loud, and it looks like you got that base covered and loaded with some nice subs to boot. Patiently awaiting some more finished pics and vids of course.

Sorry it took so long guys. My friend was throwing a huge party last night and i had been helping out with that for most of the day. Install is finished and sounds real good. I faced the box forward because when i face it back there is not much room for air to come through because the opening where the seats fold down is small. If anyone has any suggestions please say them. I haven't turned the gain up and they are sounding real nice. Only bad thing is my deck skips when playing a cd and i can't even play it loud without it skipping every 2 sec. Does anyone know how i can fix this. I was thinking i could take the deck out and then put some sort of cushion back there to keep it from vibrating. Well enough of me talking onto the pics. And vids will come soon like i said i had been real busy with that party and pulled an all nighter last night. It was weird on one of the subs. All of the subs the positive wire was on the right and the negative wire was on the left but on one of the subs the negative was on the right and the positive was on the left. I thought it coulda been out of phase but when i played them it sounds loud so i figured everything was good.

Subs all wired and ready to be put in

Subs all in and about to put it in my trunk but needed some help from my friend. Box almost didn't fit but it fit very snug so i guess my measurements were good.

I don't know if i should face it back again to see how it sounds or not. The subs sound better and better each time i play them. Still got some time to get them fully broken in but they are on their way. And also i will be making an amp rack to sit on top of the box. And i prolly will end up carpeting this but i just wanted to get it in for now.

So its fine to just glue the box? Bought 4 12s and box from a forum member and it was fine with the 1200 watts they was only rated to take, after I gave them the 3600 the box started coming apart an making a god awful sound from the pieces hitting each other. Maybe he just didnt use enough. There were no screws at all.

Yea it is fine just to glue the box. I put screws in also just to take precautions but you don't have to. Just use clamps so the glue dries. And the reason the box started coming apart was prolly because it had no bracing in it at all. I didn't put any bracing in my box but my box is not flexing at all, but i guess i will see when i turn the gains up and really get those things moving. This was my first box build so i'm not too experienced in it yet but i'm having a feeling i'm going to get alot better because now that my friends saw the box i built they want me to build them boxes because i told them don't buy prefab boxes.

Looks nice! I want to install soem 8's sooo bad!
Thanks. It is nice. The 8's are real nice so far. Definitely don't sound like 8's. Already had a few people think i had some 12's or 15's lol And i was just like no i got 8's.

is it as loud as it looks?
Yes its loud, but not near as loud as it will be. Gains are set low right not to get them broken in and i didn't have a dmm on me. And also i cant turn it up loud at the moment because my headunit skips the cd. Anyone know of something i can do to stop this? Need some help because its making me mad i can't turn it up.
