First build, need tips and tricks!

IMO, depending on what you paid for polks you may have gotten a good deal. They're not bad speakers. For their online sales prices their is better in that price range. However, you dont necessarily have to sell your speakers. The way your install is done will affect how well your speakers sound, meaning, sealing and deadening your door (research it). Aiming your tweeters...alot of factors. I wouldnt go through all of the time and effort of selling what you have now if its decent to you now. You'd be suprised how much better you can make the speakers you already have sound just from setting them up correctly. My suggestion to you is to simply do some reading around on this forum and others about how to correctly install and set up your speakers and go from there. Dont just go sell it all.

just wire and ring connectors ,either 0 gauge or 4 gauge
I've got Triple Gold Plated 4-gauge AK-5000 Wiring, if that's acceptable?

from experience polk dominates the marine industry, just because of the sizes, and applications available, but car audio imo there is way better.
I know they dominate the marine industry I've read up a lot on them and I've listened to them and I think they sound fantastic for the type of music I listen to, which is the most important thing for me. They have clearer mids and highs than most I have listened to, which is why as you can see, I am sticking with Polk for speakers, and Soundstream for amplifiers, because I've read a LOT of good comments on them and they aren't that expensive so I'm content with this for now. This is a very old car and I want to wait until I get a newer one before I invest into something bigger and better, if that makes any sense. This sounds just perfect for me for now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I will certainly read up on that. The retail price for these polks is something like 219 if I'm right? I got them new for 110, so I guess it isn't a very bad deal for the quality, which is exactly what I was looking for! When time comes for me to install them with my friend, I'll read up on many topics on here, thanks for the suggestions. I actually thought of that, and I like to be sure of what I'm doing before I actually do it. I'll surely maximize my sound quality by following tips from threads on here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
