First box in 12 years for 18w6's *pix*

Do you guys think both the braces are needed?

I'm going to see if I can locate some 1" dowels to replace those huge chunks o' wood.

Jesus people, if you read the thread you'll see it's built to spec. Yes it look's small, deal with it.

All I have in it is the cost of supplies. I don't charge myself labor.

Alright, I'm scraping the 2x2's and will more then likely be using a "b" style brace now.

I don't really see bracing as necessary when you consider the size of the enclosure and the double baffle...if anything a single wooden dowel between the woofers might help (I see that as the weakest point).

I agree. Bracing is a tad overkill in this situation, but overkill is not always a bad thing.

So if I have to resort to the 1.5x1.5's I should just use one going from the db to the back of the box and forget the one from top to bottom correct?

I wasn't sure. Even though it's got the db theres still 39" of mdf unsupported.

in your case I would just do the bracing like you had. that would be more the enough. Great thing about bracing is, if you put it all together and see any flexing no big deal, just pull a sub out and adjust as needed. I just don't see where you will have issues after some basic bracing.

Hope you don't expect that to sound very well. lulz. That enclousre isn't big enough for one of those. You'll have the quietest dual 18" setup in town //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

And...............................

It's done. Ended up only doing the 1 brace. This box went together way to well. I guess it pay's off to take your time and not rush things. I was just reflecting on how anxious I got when I was younger trying to install things too quickly and having to redo it at a later time. As I get older It might take a little extra time to do something, but it's done the right way. /life story

Now i'll just sit and ponder on what i'm going to do with the ext. I have wood filler so I could use that, then sand the box and round the corners to make it purty. Or carpet..

It's a 4.00 Qtc alignment.

They're all the rage now.

It's amazing all the sh!t i'm getting for building a box to JL spec.

I'm sorry I don't want to put them in a 10 cube box guy's. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/boobiez.gif.bcca53c4e1c9539300cad4d7d1b9dd4d.gif
