Well I finally gave in and headed to Lowes for some wood. I've been looking at them for the last 3 month's and had enough. The kid that cut it up did a great job, I did all the final cutting at home. Anyways, this is the second box i've ever made, the first being when I was 16 out of plywood. Ported and looked good for what it was. Ended up being twice as large as the trunk and threw it away. I've stuck with prefabs since.

Designed by Pro Rabbit, he did me a solid and was very helpful. It's built to JL spec at 1.75cf per. 40x18.5x11.75 total. Small but it is what it is.Cut's were dead on and I couldn't be happier with the way it's turned out thus far.

Sorry for the sh itty pics, anti blur was off and I don't feel like doing it again.

Still have to throw a brace or 2 in there, do the baffles and secure the bottom. All the more tedious stuff is done though.

i want these if u dont blow em and just dont like em

Jl's spec sheet called for 1.75 per. Do they look better graphed up in diff boxes? Yes, but until somebody builds one and doesn't just talk about it i'll stick with what I got.

I might've been reading the minimum requirments now that I think of it. Reguardless, 2 18's in a box that'll fit in the trunk of my coupe is pretty nice.

Edit: Nominal enclosure recommended as listed on the 18w6's pdf states 1.75 per driver. From looking at the cheat sheet it does appear larger is better. I could've given them at most 2.25ea but that'd be really pushing it. If I could press reverse to 2 days ago I'd probably make a box somewhere between 2-2.25cf ea.

Yea, that was a small enclosure. I do rememeber size as an issue. My little brother actually did the design for this. If you don't like the results let me know and I will get a full design and a few bucks for wood. I think we did that design for free but, I should have went over the design back then regardless.

Let us know how it performs though!!

Id probably just cover up one hole and test it with a single sub.
Not a bad idea, I'll play with it when i'm done.

Had it cost me $10 to get the best design I would've gladly paid it, I was never asked for anything. I was told this would be just fine. What's done is done and I still appreciate all the help Rabbit and his brother gave me.

I would try it out. You may be surprised at the results. Then if you want to see how they would perform in a larger enclosure block one whole and see how a single one performs.

Derrick is very good at designing. However, he is young and does not have any experience with these subs. I have ran a single 18 back in the day in 2.8 net and it did very well. However I do think for a smoother response you would need a larger enclosure.

As always personal preference will win out. Go ahead and try it out. I think most here would be a tad surprised at how it performs overall though.
