ive had them before they were like the very first gen never used them just got rid of them because i had gotten them in a trade as a throw in.
The other day i traded a 15 inch Orion HCCA 15.4 for 4 12 inch Type R's (all dual 4 and are newest models 600 rms) I threw them into a large box i had built for my 4 12 inch T1s the box specs are 10 cubes are space (after displacement with the T1's not sure the difference in the Type R's) Tuned to 32 Hertz ported.
Currently i have all 4 wired at 2 ohms bridged to an AudioPipe 3000d. When i had the Orion paired to it i used a DMM to tune the amp to 2000 RMS i have not changed the settings one bit since putting the type r's on it so i imagine im putting about 500 RMS in each sub. These things get loud as hell and its not even rated power..
i know type rs are famous for taking well over rated so im wanting to know how much CLEAN power can i expect to get from my AP3000d if and also what makes this model type r different than the 500 watt rms older models?? And givin box specs and amp how much power can i put into each
if i were to use my DMM to set my amps gains to run about 2500-2800 RMS could the subs take it and could the amp deliver it cleanly? i LOVE my ap amps but i know they arnt the cleanest at their peaks
sorry for the ramble thanks for any replies
