...umm what? i was distracted by your sig again...

Lol type rs are some of the most commonly ran subs on the market tcab Im guessing is like a tline?

And for your answer yes it snould def out perform infinity.

tcab = aero port box nothing special. sold as a basic model in 5/8 particle board

in deluxe model 3/4 mdf

there is a reason they were called tbag boxes.
Actually TCAB was just the name, most were slot ports. In fact I don't recall seeing any aero port TCABs. They were just heavily overpriced boxes that anyone could build (supposedly designed around each person car/woofer to get the best result possible). The only thing out of the ordinary(IIRC) was they had fiberglass resin coated on the inside. Mark Potts IIRC was the builder who later scammed a butt load of people. Anywho, the forum ate the bull shit up. The ole cheap Type R pretty much contributed to the boner of TCAB as he and a few others scored high numbers with his boxes and a Type R. That Tommy guy can probably explain things more accurate as he knew him on a personal level. The guy who won MECA using Type Rs IIRC (I don't think he used a TCAB though).

I know it was the name, all I ever saw was aero port ones.

I had the same setup with the first gen R's. It was ok, just not my taste. I don't like the type of so called clean bass they produce. They hit lows extremely well in 10 cubes @ 32hz, but most will never experience it because they go with the too small Alpine recommended box. They will take that Audiopipe all day long, but I think they could sound better with a cleaner amp.
