Very true. Its a method of benchmarking. Just like taking your car to the track whether drag or road course.

if not for competition and people pushing past the current limits of the available equipment then development of new equipment would slow and stop (or become stagnant)

yea i have put a few dollars into the electrical. ive just got to come up with a box design that actually works for the tib, but that is what a lot of testing is for.
once i get the electrical actually finished it will be 3 power and 2 ground runs and a d2700 upfront instead of the hc1400 thats there. and i want the 150 at the headrest...

Nice man, when im all done for finals im just shooting for a 53 sod, 2 15"s this time on a American Bass 1100.1, EA alt, and switch the batcaps out for some NSB 170FTs and 6+ 6- runs front to back, should do ok i would hope. If not, then rebuild again lol. Getting the box right is where im stuck at right now!

I am stuck at 147 out the trunk, but its foward fire, seats down. I got 147 @ 40 hz and 139.6 @ 36hz, at the headrest. I pulled 148.6 in the kick before I done any changes. right now my goal is a 150 at the headrest.

well ive only been in it for about 2 years now. and for the whole first year i didnt know sh*t(still dont know)... but learned alot from this forum. didnt have a set number goal for the first year( i think i started the year @ like a 134 LMAO). the second year my goal was a 45 average @ headrest. so now ive set mine for a 47 @ headrest

whats the tune on the box and what freq did you play for the score? I cant wait till I break a 150, but I want to do it out of the trunk.

Box is about 3.5 cube net. I tuned to around 53hz first try and was missing my peak high (didn't help that I didn't have time to pull TS parameters for this sub before I left for vacation). I added what I had left of my sheet of wood to narrow the port a bit, was still high, so cut a piece of PVC to the height of the box and duct-taped it in at the back of the port to lengthen it a little. I think tuning now is more like 49hz or so?

ive got my sights on a 150 this year. a ss xxx 15 and a stetsom 4k2d is what im starting with.
may end up building the xxx into a 12 for the simple fact they have always seemed to perform better in my car, not really sure why.

That Stetsom is a bad *** little amp. I'd say 150 is well within your reach if you can sacrifice a little low end extension.

Perhaps as a group effort with another guy. I got a friend with extra 5K amps, I have plenty of subs, if we can find another guy to put in for a shitbox Explorer or van or something we may do that. Jeep is my daily driver and I need back seat AND the option to take things out for cargo area. It will NEVER do a 160, nor do I really have any interest.

So true..but I'm getting ready to go on wall number 5 in the blazer in less then a year...but that is a small number compared 60-70 enclosures in a few months for anything else haha. Me neither. Last time I even competed was last year at Carl Casper and I popped a 153.7 playing Taylor Swift. Then I was deployed overseas and haven't messed with my jeep until just yesterday.

well welcome home then ha ha. my cousin is in afghanistan right now and comes home next month to the states
