There you go. Who says you can't run something else along side the 9255??

If he were going to go that route, he'd be better off just going with a full P9 combo.

**** straight. That is what i recommended to begin with but he doesn't really want to spend that much right now.

I got mine for 1325 for the combo after tax. Can't wait til I get a new car that will be worth putting it into.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

9255 and DQS for $1200 -----> Thats not what I paid, but you can get them for that now.
The one area where the P9 excels over the 9255/DQs would be the fact that with the 9255 you're sending an analog signal to the DQS and then converting it to digital for processing and then again converting it to analog again to send it to the amps.

With the P9 combo the signal leaves the deck digital and stays that way all the way through processing and then gets converted ONE time only to be sent to the amplifiers.

It means that the signal is never down graded just switched.
The DACs could be 32 bit and it wouldn't make any difference. The fact that the signal is being converted back and forth from digital to analog back to digital and back to analog again will degrade the signal. Where as with the P9 it starts digital and stays digital til the very end and is then converted with "you guessed it" 24 bit Burr-Brown converters and then sent to the amps via 4 volt pre outs.

I mean why do you think DVD players for the home have digital outputs that you run to your A/V receivers?? Not only are those decoders of higher quality than the one in the dvd player but the signal stays digital til it gets decoded and sent to the output stages of the individual amplifiers.

Long story short. The longer the signal stays digital.......the better.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

an ideal way to use the drz and make use of the DAC's would be with full analog processing.......but in order to not lose T/A that would require a separate unit for everyone of those channels:D Not f'n worth it...period.

Heck you can just run a single analog unit....but then that pricetag you paid for the 8 active chs with t/a on the HU becomes a complete waste. They simply dropped the ball with that unit, it could've been 'great'. Say at least 24/30db slope extra on the x-over, and say a 5band on every channel-heck even a 5 band for every pair of chs- and it could've been the end all/be all in a single din. But its not.

Well, its not to say you can't get it to sound good though. CAMSHAFT finished 4 th in the finals. But it would have been nice if Clarion would have incorporated a digital out and a companion processor for it. But then you're talking about alot more dinero.

I didnt loose my T/A.....If you dont like my idea my second choice would be an Alpine deck and H701, but then you have to buy the RUX??

so you are saying digital to analog back to digital then back to analog = the best sound? im not saying its bad i like audio control and all but it just seems kinda eeek. only advantage to it is controle in the digital domain so weather shouldnt bug it any. not only that but you run back into noise problems

NO....I didnt say back and forth was the best SQ. I just said it sounds fine. My setup sounds KA.....What you guys should be more worried about is speakers, which are the weakest link in most peoples cars.
