Final SQ Deck Choices: Poll

Well now that my 860 finally took a dump after 7 months (write up and review to come) so now I really do need a new CD player. I already have my options significantly narrowed down, and I am leaning about 85% towards the Clarion DRZ9255. Wanted to get the input of others, any is apreciated (as long as you keep it productive). In my poll are all CD players that I am SERIOUSLY considering, and I only want to buy new. As you can see above, these are narrowed down to:

Clarion DRZ9255

Clarion DXZ955MC

Pioneer DEX-P9 (without DEQ, money doesn't allow both)

Alpine 9855 with PXA-H701

Kenwood XXV-01D

I am looking for a CD player that will still be near the top of the spectrum 3 years from now, because thats how long I plan on keeping the next one I purchase. I also want to run either a 2 or 3 way active front stage, and sub stage (rears are not important). I also would like a unit that would facilitate me competing in the novice SQ competitions. Thanks for your time! Please only sugguest headunits of similar performance, and similar in price.

I would rather get something with a better warranty then alpine, and also I cannot purchase a 9835 new (I have these choices because I can get them for great prices through the company reps)

I thought about that, but for me the DEQ means spending another 550$ down the road... The DEX-P9 by itself doesn't look too appealing.

I was not really looking into eclipse because I cannot get them direct...

I am not a fan of their cosmetics or the feel of eclipse anyway

After my 860 deal I would never buy a Pioneer non-authorized, let alone refurbished especially on a unit of that caliber.

I voted the Clarion DRZ9255. I havent had any of the others. I have had Eclipse 8454, Pioneer 860mp and a few Alpines , nothing better then 9831. I just sold a Alpine 9830 and put in my old backup deck, eclipse 5433 and I didnt have to use any EQ or time alignment to make it sound better. I wish i still had DRZ9255. Best SQ deck i had. The decks listed I would think are all good but the Alpine, because i have heard so much bad news about the new ones. but im sure i will be wrong on that statement.

Until you add on the processor, and I personally like Glidetouch now that I'm used to it, it is the best way to do the iPod interface short of a flip out touchscreen. That deck doesn't blow, I put one in my dad's car and its quite nice, but there are better out there for sure.
