Im building a fiberglass box right now, and Ive come to a stopping point. I cant decide if I want to go ported or sealed. I have 2 JBL W10GTI's. I like loud, but I also like some sound quality.

Also, how many ft^3 should I make the box whether it be sealed or ported?

I hope you did not start the box prior to knowing if your going to port or seal the box. With those speakers you are talking about 1.5 to 2 feet of difference in a ported and sealed box.

To answer the question about ported or sealed it depends on what type of car/truck it is going into. What type of music and so on. I like ported for these simple reasons. With the way my truck is set up I can turn the bass down, and get great SQ (because I have a lot of mid bass fillers) and if I want to blow my eardrums out I can turn it up and I get the heart stopping bass. If you go with only sealed you will get OK bass, but like you know a tighter, crisper bass response.

You also have to think about how much power your giving the subs. You can easly overpower your subs (even though the RMS says _____) if you apply the wrong amount of power in the wrong enclosure.

You can have loud and not take away from SQ. It is a fine line to walk, but it can be done. Tell us more about what type of car/truck what type of amp, and if you are going to rear/down/up/forward fire the speakers.
