Ok I got my X's in and will be installing them within the next couple of days. I will be ruinning them off of the sub channel of a 25 to Life Power 1000 rated for 300w Rms at 4ohm and 800w Rms at 1ohm. Right now I have a pair of ED 12o.14's running at 2 ohm (rating of the amp is 600w Rms at 2 ohm) With the ED's the subs seem to be a little over powering and I was wondering how they will do with the 300w for the pair. I know that most of you will say "try it and find out" but I want to know if anyone else has already tried it.

when running subs IB, they usually can handle about half of their normal thermal power handling. So while the O's would usually do fine on that much power, IB is different. Same with the X's, that might be a tad too much power. Just play with the gains a little

id say 150 for the X's would be good. honestly 1/2 power is still alot of power when ib.

the x's are rated at 300 watts rms when sealed or ported.

I don't think power handling drops THAT much when going IB...

My sub seemed to want more after I went IB w/ it. It produces nice output but will little cone movement. When I had it sealed, they moved MUCH more. I find it odd.

Well I did it! the pair are running off of my power 1000 at a rated 150w each. So far they sound great but tomorrow will be the test when I am outside the residential area!

The sound blends soo much better now! The 12o's were overpowering to a point and the x's are prefect for the front stage (Mb Quart Pce 213's) They don't seem as loud but on my little hand held SPL meter they are almost equal on certain passages!
