FI Q Good for a Trunk Setup?

I am coming from an L7 12" in my trunk in a 3.4cuft @ 31hz box. It was run at 2 ohms on my BXI-1500d.

I want to know if a 12" FI Q in the proper box low tuned, run @ 1ohm on my BXI-1500d will yield better output and a low end then the L7 did.

I am just looking for a general answer to see if its going to be a difference I can really hear or not that much of a difference. Also, a Napalm is a third variable which I am probably going to go with. I just wanted to see if there would be a noticable difference between the L7 and Q.

How is the low end on the Q?

Some say it's not there and some say it really stands out.

I've always thought it stood out...as did the graphical information of the 12 challenge...

I think the users who came up with the conclusion of lacking low end were used to having woofers that actually rolled off very fast on the upper end...which would make them think there is more of an emphasis on the low end (like the xxx, it rolls off VERY fast in the 55+hz region)

The Q doesnt roll off very fast and very steep in the upper octaves...so it may make one think that the low end sucks...when it really doesnt, its just the woofer doesnt roll off as fast throughout the spectrum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I heard a q 10 locally, and i can say its definately not lacking low end. The q should sound better, and play lower, but output wise l7s do better imo. Try a new box design with the l7, or possibly get another.

The L7 is sold.

It's between the Q or a Napalm.

Does the "fs" of a sub have anything to do with the low end? The Napalm's fs is 35hz where the Q's is 27hz.
