Fi Car Audio Origins?

I've heard there are only a few true build houses left in America, one being SJA Industries, another TC Sounds (Audio pulse). My question is, where did Fi Car Audio come from? Who is their build house? What subs are similar to theirs? I've also heard Scott came from RE, but thats about all I know. Can anyone here fill me in?

Fi car audio was started by Scott Atwell, previous owner/creator of RE audio. Decades of experience have gone into the design of FI products. He is his own build house.

Thanks for clearing that up man. So Scott owns his own build house, that is pretty cool. Why doesn't Scott attempt another line of subs higher than the BTL? Like something to rival the LMS Ultra or DD 99? I assume he has the manpower since he has his own build house. Just not enough market for it?

I would assume because once you get over that price range the demand drops quite a bit. As mentioned, he is the only one who can really answer that.

You can allways PM or email him these questions. I do know he is an extremly busy guy, not sure if/when he's gonna make a sub like that. Are you trying to say I'm ignorant because I wondered why Scott hasn't produced a "super" sub yet? I even noted theres not really a market... It was just a question.

I think he might have been referring to the people on FloridaSPL.com, but I could be wrong.

There are a billion reasons why Scott doesn't make the sub you're looking for. You have to remember that Fi Car Audio is just a small portion of the work Scott does and he has to balance the positioning of his Fi Car Audio and Ascendant Audio brands against the work that he does for OEM clients.

Pretty valid points Devil, but not exactly a sub I am looking for. Just along the lines of I was curious as of why Scott didn't approach the very very high end sub market. Clears up everything though.

when you say "very, very high end", do you mean like SVS and REL?

Well I don't know much about SVS and REL, other than they look more like home audio woofers. I mean subs like the LMS Ultra, the DD Z, maybe RE XXX, etc.

Scott is the mind behind the RE XXX.

In fact, Scott is pretty much the de facto authority on production split coil designs, as far as I am aware.
