fi bl 15" wattage questions

BTL's dont exactly sound as good as the BL
edit: also, the BTL is out of my price range anyways. i got 350 max to spend on subs
Have you heard both? Iv'e owned both and can tell you there isn't much difference between the two...if you're looking for sq, you're already looking at the wrong woofers.

Either way, 2200 is really pushing it for a BL. Have you thought about any other subs like hdc3's?

There are 2 requirements for the subs to handle that power:

1. Make sure you have a sufficient electrical system without clipping your amplifier.

2. If it's a ported enclosure, make sure it's designed with enough cone displacement to dissipate coil heat.

Wire the sub to the highest oahm load(fi's site says if you ahve less then 2kwrms) if you have more the btl......from what ii read

If you can wir the sud to where it gets 2k or less i gues u should be good

I have no experience with the subs

Sounds like i should probably just save a bit more and get a BTL, im thinking about it.
electrically, would 1 extra battery do?
depending on your stock charging system you may get away with one good battery in the back plus the front just make sure it's a decent size, one of the 134ah c&d's should fit the bill as long as you don't have a huge amount of wattage to your front stage. I ran my bl off 1600 rms in a large box and it took it well but did get a little warm after a good session of beating on it.

Very helpful post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

As far as electrical, it really depends on alot of things and nobody can tell you if you'll be good or not.

For starters what car do youhave and how big is the alternator? I'm running 1800 off my stock 80 amp alternator, and that's really pushing it. But, iv'e got a kinetik 1800 under hood, hc600 in trunk, and big 3.

i drive an Acura Tl (2000) but currently im just considering buying a 150-200amp Alternator just to play it safe. obviouslly gonna get the big 3 and batts.

to be honest i have no idea what the current size of my alternator is >.

This could be the most useless post I've seen on this forum to date.
