That's the best thing you have ever saidThem woofers are scratched and beat up and ugly lol.. The new Fi looks x10 better then your old beat down n3s. And that glue around the dust caps looks likes dried up 3year old jizz. Those just arnt clean looking woofers
not to mention the gold underside of the cone looks like it came straight out of this guy's carThem woofers are scratched and beat up and ugly lol.. if that neo isn't high temp is not much benefit.alnico is a great magnet to use but they are very expensive. the open architecture cooling ends up hurting the driver because they don't have any defined channels to cool the coil.
it looks pretty cool and should be alot cheaper.
Id imagine in most applications like the most recent motor picture here doesn't have many problems. i've seen designs that it could be a problem in. that being said ive used them in similar situations and as low as 150 degrees lowers the magnetic field strength substantial and is nearing demagnetization.I'm still waiting for any evidence of a neodymium magnet in a loudspeaker degrading due to heat.
FACT is if the magnets get over 180 degrees the will demagnetize. ive NEVER been impressed with any of tc sounds woofers. Not in the least.
So basically you have no evidence that a neodymium loudspeaker motor has been degraded through use.
Thilo called bullshit on this in the Subwoofer Myths FAQ years ago and I have yet to see any evidence to refute that.
I'm sure all of your patents are far more impressive than Thilo's.FACT is if the magnets get over 180 degrees the will demagnetize. ive NEVER been impressed with any of tc sounds woofers. i dont care who called bull ****. i know for a fact in a 3 phase motor using standard grade N52 that exceed 200 degrees killed them. under the correct circumstances when the motors get hot as **** it will affect the magnets.
like it was said eariler most of the designs have the magnets far from the gap. and its for a reason.
couple years back they had a guy that had trouble with the neo motors he ended up scratching them because they would slowly demagnetize
