my digi camera is dead -

but I have a pair of this sub. = how old are they ? a fiew years or ???

here is pic of the bottom of them. looks way diffrent from current gto model.

jbl gto - states 300w rms - and mine are single 4 ohm.

I have the pair wired up to 2 ohm load to my bxi1206d

wondering if I should try and keep my gain way down, as im probly giving them

maby 750w actual power maby....

I have yet to realley test them in my car, as their ported box I just made is still needing a fiew more hours dry time, hoping they get reasonable sound.

lmk what you guys think about them,

and if I need to keep my gain way down,

and how old you think they are is all helpful info thanks !

they are underrated, i'd say itwould be safe to run 500-600 to each

I managed to go on a short test ride with them today and played bass mekanic

to see how they did. actually a little better than I was expecting.

altho that song pretty much slams.

had the gain a little less than half.

sounded good. no distortion audible.

and subs had a nice "punchy" feel in the chest on some notes.

now I need to tune my highs to sound better with the new box/sub combo.

gain does not mean volume, or power, the amp still has the ability to do whatever it wants fyi (could end up being an expensive mistake) and if your amp was set up the right way, as long as you dont change anything before it the gain should never change

in a sence but not really, put your hu volume or aka (gain of your hu) at half, take and turn your gain on your amp up or down and see what happens.

and what about after the amp? if his load changes also will his gain setting.

you can heve the exact same amp as someone else but have the gain set differently. all your other equipment will be a factor. also some people like to use about 65-85% of their hu (gain) and less on their amp, some like to use maybe 50% hu volume and more on their amps.

thats what I said on them...

but playing bass I love you with them

they seem to be doing great wired up at 2 ohms.

my voltage never drops below 13.5 so id imagine the subs

are actually getting around 800w to share.

its funny how that bass I love you song hits down to like 10 hz

and the subs are just bobbin up and down so slowly. - x max seems ok on this sub. nothing amazing - but way more than I thought it could do.
