JB weld is a 2 part liquid type weld that you mix together and after a curing forms a solid bond

its not the welding your thinking of.

and im pretty sure welding on a sub would fry all internals?

Well welding could work if you know what you are doing.

But most welders can't weld aluminum (which is what the basket is)

But you would have to be VERY careful if welding it as to not fuck up the surround or something else.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't good at welding already.

Try the claim first, Then if you can't get the money back jb weld might be the best option.

Edit: And who shipped that sub?

It looks like they don't really know how to ship heavy things.

if that is aluminum it is not weldable with the cone assembled into it, aluminum conducts heat so well that most, if not all the surround would be melted by the time it was finished.

i would file the ins. claim

tig welding.

tig welding.

Ill try the claim first... Then jb weld.

Even if it was partially the shippers fault i dont wanna put any blame on him as that would only result in alot of arguing, confusion, and time.

How exactly would i fight a claim?

the shipper said the crate was very sturdy when he shipped it... i beleive it was to but it seems to be there there were 8 screw holding the top down and all of them got ripped out...

Fedex had to throw this ***** around pretty bad.

have u ever welded aluminum?yes a tig is needed but u will not keep it from melting the surround
extremely hard.

burns very hot. requires tons of skill and control. lots of eye/hand coordination, and a light touch.

and im pretty sure youll fry all internals with any type of welding (or maybe not with a higher model woofer that could otherwise take a wall socket for any amount of time?)
