I just watched the fedex guy bring in what was supposedly my RE MT 18" sub...

The sub was in a makeshift wooden crate but all the screws got torn off the top and wen the guy left the box at my door it was as if someone just ripped the top of the box off... its a sad sight to see...

Im surprised the sub wasnt in peices. I only noticed that one spoke was cracked at a joint... ill have to take a closer look to see if anything else is broken and power it up to see if it even works...

i also hate fedex dropped off 2 packages here and they were both fuxed.

Surprised it wasn't worse with CARDBOARD WALLS. Honestly, that was poor packaging for such a heavy sub.

I see no MT. Unless that is an MT motor with Jug softparts. But why would you do that? That can't be it.

I paid $325

Its insured for $400

So what do you guys think i should do?

Fix:

Its only one spoke, id try to weld it but; i need to learn how first and second i dont want to melt any rubber.

I met the guy just as he dropped it off at the door. I asked him what to do if its broken, he just told me to call fedex.

Leave it alone?

Its not going to be in use for a while but i wanna get the insurance or what not before its to late if i need to.

do you guys think like 3 little spot welds would work?

Im afraid of melting the glue/surround.

I have no experience with welding(yet)

But i have access to a welder.

I just talked to him... He hasnt seen the pics yet but i told him its only one spoke.

I tested the sub off at 100 watt HT amp and it works fine no scratching.

What would you guys do?

depends on what kind of welder it is. if it is a welder with a torch then that would probably fux up the voice coil and set the cone on fire. if it is a spot welder them im sure you can do it with no damage.
