fatmat sound deadening?

I have FatMat in my Blazer. Picked up 100 sq ft of it from their Ebay store for pretty cheap. As long as the surfaces are cleaned well before putting it on it goes on pretty easy. I used a wood roller and a heat gun, did mine a month ago so it was pretty cold out. So far I've only had time to do my front doors and the rear hatch door, but I definitely noticed a good difference in the road noise.

yeah i should prolly get my doors ive shook the **** car loose. i saw fat mat was real cheap and i dont need anything thats super impressive i just wanna get rid of some road noise and some better sound from my woofer in the trunk.

Raammat is good, especially for the money. I personally use Second Skin and you really can't go wrong with that. Great product. I've ordered numerous times. When I get my next car I will probably spend about $2-3k on deadener. Cascade also makes some real good stuff.

IMO: If you're gonna spend money on deadener, or anything for that matter, spend a bit more and get the better quality product. In the end you will be much more satisfied.

aight aight.

someone told me they could hook me up with i think 9 sheets of 18" by 32" dynamat for about $120. is that a good deal? im not really familiar with prices of this stuff.

Yeah, Fatmat sux, use Rammat or Secondskin.
Beyond that -- just do a serach. You will find all the info that you need has been discussed many, many times.
Just curious, what kind of FatMat did you have in your vehicle before you removed it and put in something else? Or did you ever use any? Just curious how you based your opinion that FatMat "sux" as you say. I talked to one guy online in the past who said it sucked because it fell off, but then he also said that he didn't clean the surface with any degreaser or anything before he put it on, nor did he use any kind heat gun to make sure the seal was complete.

The reason I asked if he used it before is cause I know a lot of people will say FatMat sucks, or this other company sucks more. And it's a baseless opinion. I can see if someone applied it correctly and had problems with it, thats fine. But I'd be willing to bet the majority of these people saying it "sux" have never actually used it, or applied it incorrectly and had problems with it. They are posting their opinion like it's based on facts, but they are just repeating what they saw someone else post in a forum. I've heard that Raamat is a good brand, same with secondskin, but I've never used it or personally known anyone thats used it, so I won't post an opinion on those brands. The only ones I've tried were Stinger Roadkill, and the Fatmat. The Stinger was thin, not very sticky, cheap and fell of most places within a month. The Fatmat is extremely sticky and once applied correctly I couldn't pull a piece off, I tried.
