fatmat or edead 45?

Don't know why your fatmat would be coming up. I have had mine in there for quite some time now and looks like it the day I layed it down.

I will say that the logo does turn your hands bluish,purplish, but it is nothing but their logo stamped on after it rolls out.........or as Rudy thinks, it is PS with a fatmat logo, lol!

The sad reality is, eventually eD will probably introduce a decent deadening mat. All the little eD cronies will jump and shout SEE! All the older versions like V1, all the lies nd all the cheating, all the wasted money from earlier customers who purchased their earlier inferior offerings will all be forgotten. And we will be bastards if we even mention any of this, just bandwagoners bent on hating eD and Ben till the end.

I guess companies like SS just got extremely lucky in not having to offer one inferior product after another until they finally got it right. Is V3 finally eD's entrance into the real-world butyl/alum deadening mat market? Maybe. But even if it is, that is no excuse for all the lies and cheating leading up to this product. If some of you have no problem supporting a business who has traditionally treted its customers this wy, more power to you. But stop acting like the guys telling the rel story, the whole story, are the biased ones here. You eD fans cannot refute one single solitary accusation against eD, they DID lie about V1, they DID try to steal patented tech off the W7, etc. You cant refute, all you can do is demand we forget. Well, we dont forget, and we wont forget all the previous and inferior versions sold as 'rubberized' and labeled as the best in the industry.

Again Im quite confident Ive been laying asphalt mat since before you knew it existed. And I have access to a vehicle tht has had it attached, very well, for a dozen years. Does tht mean I should show surprise when someone comes in and says they had problems with it? Mybe.... just maybe... what foxpro and rudy and I have been saying all along, that asphalt mat, and especially that which came from eD, is prone to inconsistancy problems. This is exactly why Ive told you nd na_rsx numerous times that one or two accounts of it working are not a testimonial to the over all quality of the product.

To be completely honest, I didn't have a clue they came out with new sound deadening. I thought the OP was just calling the v1se by a different name or by the thickness. I just went to there site and realized it was different. I hadn't browsed it in a while.

I have had my fair share of problems with eD products. A couple of the times it was there fault and they fixed it. Just because they fixed it doesn't mean the problem wasn't ever there, and I am not denying they have had problems through the years.

I have been reading on the car audio forums for years so I have seen them all. The flat cones were breaking and coming seperated, my friend had an original K that did that. They came out with the sq10 and everyone was saying they stole the design from tang band.....

I was just telling my opinion on their sound deadening and nothing else......my bad, I thought that is what this thread was about.....

Either way, there have been people say bad things about Fat Mat and edead.....

The way I see it, is if it is that big of a deal to people then they should save there money and buy more expensive/better product. If they are going to question the budget products and have everyone arguing in a thread about it.....then why not just by 5-10sqft of each and decide for yourself...

The reason I quoted you is because you are/were trying to imply these 'stories' are just that, stories. They are not just stories, they are real facts that reflect upon the nature, attitude and business plan of elemental designs.

what am I wrong about? I didn't say either product was better....I just said that "I" would choose the edead over the fatmat from what I have seen. But once again, I stated that I just saw the install after it was finished and did not lay the product myself.

I didn't say there business plan was better than anyone elses and that everyone should call up Ben Milne and tell him hes doing a great job and that everyone should use his product.

Hmm fatmt or edead.. that's a tough cll. Fatmat is asphalt, while the newer edead is butyl. Clearly the edead is likely the better produc. But I would refuse to support the business plan eD offers, so Id chose fatmat... I guess.

If you knew a local pet store was abusive to their animals, would you shop there? If you knew WalMart was intentionally mis-marking their product specs, would you still shop there? If you knew Ford was attempting to steal important technology from Chrysler to tout as their new breakthrough tech and product, would you still support this business and their products? That is what eD is to the car audio industry.

So, you either ARE recommending a product you have never used, based apparently on eD's sterling reputation for distributing quality deadening mat... or you keep spouting off about a no-longer-current version of the mat that has about as much significance to the new mat as does a peanut butter sandwhich.

But they cant say anything about the new stuff, since neither of them have tried or used it. I have (if you want to call it this) the old V1SE2 in my car and its still there, and doing its job. So I can go ahead and say that the new stuff is better, since the "old" doing well in my car, and why would ED downgrade a product. And you, FoxPro, Rudy, James Bang can all argue with me on the v1SE1, cool lets throw down then lol.

Well I understand where you are coming from. You just don't support anyone purchasing from them because it helps them stay out there in the industry. They may not make the best products and they have there problems but they sure as hell know how to market their product even though it is alot of times misleading or not really their "technology".

My 'preachings' quite clearly lay out the historical attiude of eD, and the historical performance of their mat. You are the one who made the statement "I will never endorse a product I have not used" and yet I found almost half a dozen quotes from this thread alone where you do that very thing.
