fatmat or edead 45?

So you're standing behind a product you've never seen or used. I'm sure people will give your recommendation the weight it deserves.
Uh check the sig, lasted 2 years on my car and still going. I will never recommend a product that i never used period. If i own/ed it, i will give my 2 cents, whether people like it or not. Some will appreciate it, others...................well yeah!

Are you being intentionally obtuse or have you run into some sort of logical barrier? The eDead that is being sold now is not the same as the eDead you used two years ago. You are telling people to buy the only product that they can buy now - one you have never used or seen. You are doing exactly what you said you would never do in the quoted post.

It's just the natural effect Eduh products have on people over time.

He's right na_rsx, you keep dinging yourself in a hole. If you insist on doing it, please take bigbang with you so I can throw the dirt over both of you. Dirt is a great deadener and it's a super win-win, two-for-one combo! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Oh my bad, I was just going under the impression that my edead is still in tact and that it works fine. If the new edead is different, then its only gotten better. So you admit that your facts are based on old stuff, and not new stuff.....hmm. If you want, I can order some new edead and ship some to you, so you can determine if the new edead is better or the same as before, then if thats case i would apologize and say you were right!

Keep dinging......oh digging, i am not digging myself into a hole. Its clear that all testing and facts are based on an old product, not the new. But since its the same brand, its going to **** either way cause ED makes it. So with no "science", "facts", or "proof" of what the new edead consists of or if its better, your just going by the name of a company and standing by that simple reason?

Wow!!

I've said - more than once in this thread alone - which versions I was talking about. That doesn't distract from the fact that every statement you have made in the last several months is based on exactly zero first hand experience. Please feel free to send me samples, but your standard is ridiculous - the same as or better than poor doesn't mean it meets the minimum standard for vibration damping. That said, I'll gladly accept your offer and publish performance results right here - the new stuff vs. v1SE² vs. Dynamat Xtreme. Since ED reps have said that v1SE² is better than Dynamat Xtreme, the new stuff should be much better. I'll need enough to cut 3 clean 6" squares.

Ill see if someone on ICIX thats going a deadener showdown can send you some, might be faster that way, pm your address please.

I brought that in here to show how you don't have any merit to argue anything car audio. With your experience you speak of you still place passive xovers INSIDE the door. Not to mention you're using those passives WITH a 3way xover in the same setup. The reason for that might be that you're running rear-rill, which would just again show how shitty your setup is. Therefore, you shouldn't really post in this thread trying to debate with people that know what they're doing.

and there you go making stuff up again. My was not handed to me in no way. No need for back up. I gave up on you in your build log, which I should've never even bothered with your hopelessness. It is cool that you have little e-friends in that thread to blow air up your *** and tell you your install "look's good." Try finding real friends that will tell you the truth. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Jesus dood, you really are a sad individual!

Not everyone can be you James, I have said it how many times? How many people do you know to run 8" mids up front? Not many in a wide spectrum. You do your thing, I do mine, simple as that really. I never claimed to be a SQ guru like yourself. And for your info, I run rears for the kiddies, that simple really. If you can't understand that, then I don't know what to tell you. I know you are slow, but come on now. And yeah, I have a 3-way in my setup, because at one time I needed them all in a install I had years ago. I haven't used but 2 of them in the last few years, so what!

And I no where said anywhere I claim to know more than you or any of you guys when it comes to specs on either audio or mat. I just know what works in my case. I am all for learning, but not when people sit there and just bash me to bash me.

I am sure it will come up as you are thick headed, we tried. Nobody tried, you all went to being the bishes you are........well fox and James. I respect what Rudy and Audioholic say, because they do with class and will take what they have to say to a point.

When it comes down to it. I do my thing, you do yours. You'll try to piss in my Wheaties, I will do the same to you. Not to mention it makes my day go by faster. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So it is clear, most think I am an idiot, thickheaded and whatever else, and I feel the same about you guys. So with that said, I will keep using my fatmat. I have 25sqft left over and will seal my door up with it and some roof flashing.....OMG another roofing product, lol!

Hope we can keep this going. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And I guess now Rudy thinks I am a rep for Fatmat? Too funnay!
Yeah, I did a test in my car of whole trunk in SS damp and just ran the fatmat on the floor in the trunk and quarter panels, lol!

Come on Rudy, keep the class I just mentioned.
Why even mention his "class" when you don't have any w/ your name calling. This is a car audio forum. I think we should keep it that way.

Instead of discussing about deadener and whats better or works or doesn't, you'd rather just go off topic and call people out on their ethics or personalities, people you don't know shit about. You really think you're special enough that they're really attacking you? No, It's the damn negative info you spread like a disease. Negative info about SOUND DAMPENING is Rudy's and Fox's pet peeve, if you haven't notice.

And like it's been said many times before, just because it's sticking doesn't mean it's dampening/deadening (refering to asphalt/fatmat). BUT you'll just focus on the personal crap instead of the info provided.

Dood, you started talking shit to me in my build thread log about my passives and explained it without any BS and you went off on me. Pot calling the kettle black much, lol!

And I have explained I don't know how many times about what it does in my install. Do you not know how to comprehend? Honest question there. Try this thing called.....READING SLOWLY, since you can't grasp I said that yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Not even writing it again, as it has been stated. Now take your time friend. Don't want you to hurt your eyes. Maybe I should type in big bold letters all the time with big spaces in between each word. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

And I never had any name-calling to Rudy or Audioholic. Now to you, Foxbish and this new tool FJF, then yeah, start shit with me, I will fire right back at ya. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

more little immature shit and no word about deadening. I even called it.

I'm sorry I didn't join in on the fake parade in your build log and simply posted, "wtf were you thinking w/ the tweet and passives location?"

My point again, if you can understand that passives don't belong IN the doors, behind where car manufacturers place their MOISTURE GUARDS, then how can you understand the complexity of sound dampening. And with your tweets where they are, it shows you don't have an understanding of acoustics, which sound dampening has a big role in.

I will never recommend a product that i never used period.
Is that so?

If the new edead is different, then its only gotten better.
New edead is better.
So i dont defend the old stuff, because the facts are there that it was asphalt and it did ****, not denying that. But to bash something new that you havent even tried or seen a well test of, well shows how much of a dick you really are.
Edead is the best deadener for the price.
edead still pwnts bishes
So, you either ARE recommending a product you have never used, based apparently on eD's sterling reputation for distributing quality deadening mat... or you keep spouting off about a no-longer-current version of the mat that has about as much significance to the new mat as does a peanut butter sandwhich.

the first v1 my friend had wouldnt stick very well. But of course he didn't really clean the surface well and was putting it on in like 55degree weather.

I have used Dynamat extreme, edead v1se2, and my stepdad has fatmat......

Dynamat extreme was a little better that the edead as far as sticking down, but once the v1se2 got rolled over it wasn't coming back up! The v1se2 is great for the price even if some people do try to bash it.

The eD stories always seem to come back up. The story was that the original stuff eD released was supposedly rubber based and it ended up being asphalt based.....end of story.

The new stuff is NOT asphalt based and works really well.

The v3 liquid deadening that they offer is freaking great. It is really easy to apply and it dries REALLY fast. I put the liquid in a friend of mines car and each layer dried in about 15mins, I also did the whole trunk of my 82 bonneville and it turned out really well. It dries a little lighter than black, more of a dark gray......

The fatmat that is in my stepdads truck, he is happy with. I personally think it should stay stuck down a little better. He is a perfectionist and I know he took his time putting it down and in some spots it just seems like it did not stick.........But I was not there when he was putting it in.

all in all, I would choose the edead over fatmat.........but thats just me.....and it IS based on personal experience

thanks,

Curtis

I used Fatmat 2 years ago and it stunk my car for about 2 months. The fatmat that was under my hood lid is still in place but there were other areas where the edges came off.

I installed eDead vse1^3 (the clearance stuff they had) a few weeks ago under the roof of my car and on the plastic panels of my rear deck. It sure stopped the rattle on my rear deck and stopped the flexing at the back end of my roof top, but the sunroof rattles now because I can't deaden the sun roof -.-

I prefer eDead over Fatmat though. Fatmat makes your finger and thumbs blue because of that stupid logo.

As for future deadening, I'll either give SS Damp a try or use eDead 120. I'll need to get a free sample from both products before I go buying 80 square feet.

If that were truly the end of the story, V1se2 would still be eD's current mat. If it was such a great product, why did even the likes of eD phase it out?
You eD fans really like to bury your head in the sand when it comes to reality. You call a history of eD showing a predisposition to LIE to its customers to sell inferior product 'stories that always seem to come up'. Gee.... I wonder why those stories always seem to pop up, don't you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
