Pierce county WA had a bunch in my younger days too. Just never seen any of their hu outside the storesPinellas County Florida had MANY Radio Shack stores, several Circuit Cities and a few Sound Advice stores. I think Best Buy was too much for the other stores.
IIRC Ford had and engine that you changed the firing order depending if it was for a truck or sports car.Did you know that an engines firing order is set by the design of the crankshaft?
Tweeter/Dow Stereo would have advertisements that read "We fix free installs."
LOL...Did you know that an engines firing order is set by the design of the crankshaft?
Yes,I believe it is the current Coyote Engine in the Mustang and F-150's
What area were you a rep in? While working at DOW, I was making $100k a year. Nobody could believe it. I believe Best Buy opened in San Diego in 1999. Dow immediately took a hit, and that is when Tweeters bought them out. I jumped ship, in 2000, and went to BBY. At the time, my income dropped to about $75k. By 2008, I started an entirely new career. I knew car audio was never going to be the same. To many hack shops.I remember those ads. I was a rep for Alpine at the time.
I got my start in 12V as an installer for Tweeter in the '80's when they were a small 8 store chain in New England. I was making what union tradesmen were making to 'sling radios'. Margins were at 50%, and higher, and the work we did was top quality. It was great, then, but as they tried to grow and compete with Circuit City, and well, ... we all know what folllowed.
