Message: <blockquote data-quote="Old_Slapper" data-source="post: 8913327" data-attributes="member: 690458">Best Buy killed all the electronic retailers.  I remember my old company, I worked for, trying to stay afloat after BBY moved in.  BBY had free HU installs, so Tweeter/Dow Stereo would have advertisements that read "We fix free installs."  That didn't help.  They folded 2 years after BBY moved in.  Same with Good Guys.  Circuit City only lasted about a year, I think.  Now, with Amazon, BBY is taking a serious hit.  BBY's method was to make money off the attachments, and not the equipment, where all the other stores were trying to make money off the equipment.  BBY realized you will only make $100 on a big screen, and another $100 by selling $150 worth of cables.  All the other stores didn't carry cables.</blockquote>
