OK I've read several posts where people are really concerned that their high-end speakers are made in Taiwan. There is a reason for this.
My dealer told me this regarding DLS speakers after I saw "Taiwan" on the products:
There are certain chemicals used in the construction of drivers (mainly glues) that are illegal for use in certain countries, including USA and Germany. I don't know if they are dangerous or simply illegal (cocaine glue?) but in the finished product, the chemicals pose no threat. It is ok to manufacture and appply such chemicals in Taiwan, so while the drivers may be built to some degree in Taiwan, DLS speakers remain genuinely German.
Don't get discouraged if your speakers or audio components say made in Taiwan. Seems like everything is nowdays.
