first lets start off by showing a pic of what my door panel looks like:
what i'm gonna do is make a fiberglass pod that will fit over that large hole and mount my 6.5 where the magnet will go through that hole. i'm gonna block the holes in the outer doorskin with plexiglass, and deaden the hole door with 2 layers of mat. then behind the cone i will use a deflex pad, or egg carton foam behind the speaker. i will fiberglass the back of the door panel behind where my 6.5 will mount for reinforcement, and deaden the whole doorpanel. does this sound good? am i missing some steps?
