Factory recommended box? good?

the sub is a rockford P3 Modle number P310D2

The ported box design in the woofers manual seems pretty standard. The design is H = 14.5" W = 22.5" D = 10" with a 7 " long 3" inch diameter port beside the woofer.

It says the box design is tuned for a wide range of music.... Any thoughts on how this box will perform?

Having the port right beside the woofer seems weird and doesent look too attractive.

Are rockford factory box designs any good?

I suggest building a slot ported enclosure. You'll get better results
