factory amplifier help?

ok so i just had almost a 1500 dollar system installed. a chunk of it is installation but ok. it worked for 10 minutes then lost all sound. took it back they told me the factory amplifier is causing problem. something about it sending voltage back to head unit or something...so they are saying it needs to be bypassed. from what they are saying either way the factory amplifier wont be able to be used...so i dont understand that... its either bypass it and just lose the power and run speakers off the head unit. or bypass it and add another amplifier. i dont see the point of 2 amplifiers to run a simple system and some subs...isnt there another way? i get the feeling as professional installers they should have known this would happen before getting into it all.

Well it sounds like they just hooked it up in the back of the head unit like there was no other amp installed in the car either they didnt know or just didnt care. So the head unit is pushing power and than that power is going threw the amp and getting amplified again or is tried to. So they need to get a amp bypass kit or there is a kit that will alow you to use your amp that is built into the car. Let me know the make and model and year and I can give you a link for these cables.

Yes he is right. Had someone bring me the same prob once in a maxima. Just go buy a factory amp interface you can get them at best buy for about eighty bucks. This should solve your problem. They should have figured that out.

Yah they should have known the car needed the bypass, you can do it yourself pretty easy so they dont have to charge you
